poke-poke-poke!!!

Ryan says I'm distracting him sitting there watching him prep the injections so he banned me to the computer room. :)

Figured I'd update my blog while I wait!

Here he is prepping the shots. (hee hee...maybe this is why it was making him nervous? cause i kept taking pictures of him?)

And here's one of the new meds. Blech. Longer needle. This one comes in two separate containers, the top is liquid and bottom is powder and mix them together before he injects it...

Oh look! He's ready! Poke-poke-poke!!! Here we go!!!

... 10 minutes later...

i hit a wall.
i cried. (before he injected me)
and then i laughed. (before and then while the needle was in me)
and then i said, 'holy crap' cause holy crap was it sore.
and then i cried.
and then i laughed.

this is going to be a long 10 days.

OUCH. oh dear. look. i'm bleeding on my shirt.

TMI?

So how much information is TOO much information? ;) hee hee...

  • blood test today = E2 levels (estrogen?) looking good. Yay!

  • ultra sound today = 11 follicles on the left, 10 follicles on the right. YAY!!!! (way up from 8 & 5, 5 months ago during our consultation-maybe the acupuncture?)

  • mock transfer today = curved uterus. BOO! not unusual but VERY uncomfortable. BOO!!! (the nurse had to remind me to breathe) Let's just say it was pretty much your worst papsmear times 10. Hence 13 hours later and I can still feel it. BOO! (was that TMI?)

  • However good news is that we're all a go!! YAY!!!!

(of course in my head I was thinking, 'wait, i've had 9 days of shots and we weren't sure?!')

Rye's getting to be a pro at jabbing me with the needle. I think he's starting to have too much fun. We'll see how he takes the pressure of 3 tomorrow!

With that and acupuncture gonna really start feeling like a pin cushion! :)

1 shot, 2 shots, THREE

Oh dear, oh dear...we begin 3 shots already on Thursday! - gulp -

odd...

it's a super odd (and not to fun) feeling to have tender ovaries.

at least this means the Lupron is working!!!

Sunday, March 27, 2011

oh dear...

i cried 4 times today...i think it's the hormones. course getting speeding ticket didn't help either. ;)

6 shots down 44 to go...

ryan's been doing pretty well at them. only one really hurt and bled (maybe hit a muscle?). the rest have been very tolerable.

more difficult has been remembering which pills to take when. 1 prenatal 2x a day, 1 folic acid 1x a day, doxycle-something or other 2x a day 12 hours apart and can't be taken with a multi b/c it inhibits absorption but has to be taken with food, 1 baby asprin 1 x a day, levothyroxide (my thyroid one) 1x a day 30 min before eating anything in the morning. hee hee...and can't forget our black chix soup 3x a day and my chinese herbs 2x a day!

midnight here at Kaneohe and Rye is unloading our most recent Waa house trip, but has forced me to sit and relax since this is supposed to be unwind time, and we need my body nice and relaxed. :) am trying not to feel guilty.

OOWWWWWWW!!!!

okay, well not THAT bad. not fun, but not that bad. (didn't help that i had close to hysterical nervous laughter that wouldn't stop which was making Ryan laugh too...)

1 down 50 to go!

OMG.

Ryan just practiced on himself!!! hee hee hee...he said it didn't hurt, but when I looked he's bleeding!

Hmm...

I can hear Ryan prepping and getting the meds ready in the living room. Have to say I'm not too thrilled. And when I asked, "Are you sure you know what you're doing?!!" his response was, "Well, look at it this way, at the worst it'll just hurt more!"

Great. Getting a little nervous here...

One Shot, Two Shots, Three Shots...

Four...Five Shots, 6 Shots, 7 shots more...

Here we go!! Wanna see the bunch of injection goodies Rye and I now possess?

hee hee...and I didn't even put all the syringes out, or needles, or alcohol swabs, cause I thought that'd be over kill. We even get our own little biohazard waste thingy! This is our 3 week supply. (more to come after)

Lupron injections start tonight. Lupron is to stop my ovaries from releasing any eggs. (valuable, valuable eggs! gotta keep them all in!)

Here we go!!

hee hee...if I didn't feel like a pin cushion from acupuncture I certainly will now!

Thank You

Although I know I've mentioned my appreciation here and there, I wanted to take a whole post to REALLY express how thankful we are for the support, WORK and dedication of our family and friends.

I had no idea what we were getting into when we started working on our house...and it was probably a good thing, because had I known the amount of blood, sweat and tears (as Cec so nicely put it), I'm not sure I would have begun in the first place. But it was a process, and it was an enjoyable process, a bonding process, an educational process, and a process we won't ever forget. (nor i think will it ever end)

...and also a process that would have been completely unbearable, and perhaps even unachievable without the help of many of you.

So here's some pictures of my Thank Yous and what I'm grateful for...

Delivered meals, that were not only SOO yummy and way better than what Rye and I cook, they helped us keep going so we didn't expire and pass out -

(hee hee...and spoiled stacy & ryan received way more than this, but these were a couple of our delivered dinner pictures i found...even granny helped out, check out her yummy stew!)

Tireless workers...

And lastly the camaraderie and emotional support (even via e-mail or phone)...blood, sweat and tears, lots of laughter, grimaces and smiles...it all helped to make our house a home. :)

So on our last big push weekend, before the move we had our 'volunteer workers' sign our countertop base...

Thanks so much to all of you who helped to make our house a home.

With deep and sincere appreciation,

we're in!!

We're IN and we're LOVING it. It's our own home and we LOVE that so many of you helped make it what it is. It's old, it's got cracks, and your typical Hawaii visiting roaches and geckos...but we're really happy, and I think it's totally Ryan-and-I.

With the hoopla and craziness of the panic before the move, the packing and unpacking, and no internet I haven't posted recently...so here's a couple of pictures from the weeks prior.

Hmm...scratch that. Just pics of the move for now. :) Was going to post more of the weeks prior renovations, but better get back to unpacking!

Home is where the heart is.

Love,

distractions

Fever yesterday, tsunami warning tonight...these are NOT helping the progress of my packing.

Stopping my box packing and now packing an overnight bag to sleep over at the Miyashiros. Hoping for Hawaii that this will be a false alarm. The sirens blaring outside don't help anxiety levels. :)

(hee hee...course you can tell since i'm stopping to blog that obviously my anxiety levels aren't THAT high)

hoping aren't boxes won't be floating tomorrow and you don't find me surfing into the city,

dedication take two

Dedication is working for 6.5 hours without a toilet even if you need to pee, and working till you can't take it anymore at 11pm. (being a boy at this point is much more advantageous-stupid Ryan)

coming together

It's coming together!!!! Exhausted, but it's coming together!!!

Floors are just about done, and they're BEAUTIFUL. Painting is almost complete, just one more room to go. (well a big room, the kitchen-sigh) But the colors of all the other rooms and the wood of the floor go together so well, we're really excited!!!

It was an 'early' night tonight got home at 9, so we actually cooked. TRYING to be healthy and stay within our diet because.....

We also got our IVF schedule!!!! It's ALL coming together!!!

Have been on Oral Contraceptives for 17 days now, since we had gotten a call that the genetics profile was going well...and last week they completed it! We're set to go! I'm on OCPs for another 3 weeks, and we have our first appt, an 'injection class' on 3/17. My daily shots will begin 3/21. Just in time for us to be settled in the house. :)

Day off tomorrow, thank heavens, for acupuncture.

If things weren't busy before, they're about to get busier! Who needs down time?

I think it's over rated. ;)
