Just realized the other pictures of Andrew were actually taken awhile ago. Here's a more current look at his unproportional girly lashes (i swear at one point they were growing by the day) and his sweat head. hee hee...umm...not to mention growing cheeks!

Daniel's Smile
Meant to post this couple weeks ago when Daniel first really started to smile. Hard to mind waking up at the break of dawn when you wake up to this.
Andrew's Eyelashes
Our little boy has sweet little girl lashes
Ummm....and he's also kind of a stinky sweat head. :) (that's just so you don't think we're too vain) ;)

bodily fluids
My best friend since Middle School is back in town for the week and has been spending time with me and the boys. :) She commented today that being a Mom at this point must mean I'm not grossed out by anything any more. (after witnessing numerous poopy diapers and spit up episodes)
I suppose this picture we took a couple weeks ago does make that point. Pee all over you? Yup. We stop to take a picture. :)
(and not a small amount of pee either!) ;)

Resemblance winner!
And the clear ringer for best family resemblance goes to....Allie-baba!!!
As you can see here, more than Mommy, more than Daddy, Andrew definitely pulls from the Kaneohe Yang side! ;)

So sad!
The boys moved out of our bedroom today and into their nursery.
Just those few feet away feels like a mile - emotionally and probably for the 2am feeding as well. ;)

Woo Hoo!!!
Am sitting here at 8:55, eating a bowl of cereal and drinking a cup of coffee!!! BOTH boys are down AND....wait for it....am so excited can hardly contain myself...
Andrew put himself down!!! :) WOO HOO!!!
Okay, no he did not change his own diaper, crawl into the crib and sing himself to sleep. But what he DID do, is after I fed him this morning and put him down, he woke after 5 minutes while I was feeding Daniel, was watching and listening on the monitor as he fussed, moved and writhed off and on, complained to himself, squirmed...and then after 20 minutes of it he fell asleep!!! Woo Hoo!!!
Huge huge accomplishment. Yes, this is my life these days - but when your baby - or one half of your babies is able to fall asleep without nursing, crying, cradling or rocking it's cause for some clear celebration.
And what good timing since Aunty Pat and Allie are baby sitting tonight and Rye and I get to go on a date. :)
Clearly a red letter Friday. (why the heck is it called Red Letter anyway?)

multitasking
The epitome of a new mommy multitasking - sitting here pumping, while dying my hair, warming a bottle, writing on my blog and eating an ice-cream drumstick.
Gotta make good use of my time these days. ;)

Before & After
hee hee...meant to post this when the boys were first born
Before - March 11th - our last belly shots:
Before - March 11th - our last belly shots:
After - April 14th:
Pictured here Andrew & Daniel are actually both 3 ounces LESS than when they were born. Meaning that's LESS than what was in my tummy! Still can't get over they fit in there! And awweee...look how cute and tiny they were! :)
Woo Hoo - Lunch!
Woo Hoo!!! BOTH boys went down for a nap! Have now had 10 minutes and counting to eat lunch!
Yay! for good little boys!!!
Oh wait. There goes Daniel. ;) Drat. But that's okay, had time to finish! Woo hoo!

Father's Day Dinner
Had a wonderful wonderful Father's Day Dinner. Thanks in no part to me. :) Big thank you to Uncle Al, Aunty Pat and Allie for making Rye's Father's Day a great one. (drat - should have taken a picture of the huge steak!)

Two Months
While occasionally still wobbly our boys are anything but small these days. Almost doubling their body weight, Andrew is now 12 lbs 11 oz and Daniel 12 lbs 7 oz. Yes, Andrew has now surpassed his brother. :) Though it's not a surprise when you see those squooshy chipmunk cheeks and growing biceps.
Both boys are able to hold their heads up, while on your lap or over your shoulder and love to look around or at you to stare curiously at the world and people talking to them. They now smile socially (not just gas) ;)...and I have to admit it must be one of the most wonderful heart warming feelings to see your little baby actually split into a smile full of glee when he first sees your face in the morning.
Along with their smiles the boys also coo so much more these days, and can even hold a (brief but cute) coo conversation with you when they're in a good mood. (You say something they coo back, you say something they coo back)
We're still on pretty limited sleep (hence me writing this at 4am while pumping after our early morning feeding), house is a mess, cooking is a rarity...but must admit life is pretty good these days.
We love our little boys and are so amazingly grateful.

Miss you Mom
I think sometimes your body and heart know what your mind doesn't...remembers that there was such a loss on this day years ago. The past few days have been hard, and i wasn't sure why. I missed Mom more, thought of her often, cried in the car, cried in the shower...and didn't realize and had forgotten until mid morning that today was June 3rd.
5 years ago today we lost you Mom, surrounded by the people that loved you most we said goodbye and our world changed forever. 5 years seems like a lifetime without you...and even more so in the past 2 months...and yet if I close my eyes, I can see your smiling face, hear your voice and feel your presence in and around everything I do. I miss you so, Mom. I wish you could see us now. I think you'd be proud of where we are...of all of us, Cec, Dad and I. I think you'd know it wasn't easy to get where we are today without you...but I think you'd understand that we've done our best...and will continue to try to make you proud.
Your grandsons are so much more than we bargained for and fill our life with a love that I didn't think was possible since we lost you. I only wish you could see them now, I only wish they could know what an amazing mother you are and what a wonderful grandmother you would have been...and yet I believe you're smiling down on them, laughing at their chubby cheeks...laughing at the spit up and pee all over me...and quietly patting me on the back and pushing me forward when I feel like I'm about to crumble.
I love you and miss you so, Mom. 5 years is a lifetime without you.
