EBS - FLASH FLOOD WARNING

Can't remember as far back as last week - what day did we have the heavy rain? ... hmm...at any rate, it was a chaotic day with all the kiddies wading through the streets to get to school...with flash flood warnings, here's the e-mail I sent Dad, Cec and Rye in the middle of the day:

The emergency broadcasting system is still going on as I type this, we have an alarm in our office that pages state alarms, it's warning about the flooding on the island....and they just said the funniest thing I've heard all week. After stating there's a state wide flash flood warning, listing the areas of flooding to avoid, and warning about deep waters on flooded streets they state, "Do not attempt to cross deep waters, do not drown." hee hee hee hee....boy is that helpful. Do not Drown.

Seeking safe harbor until this passes, (it's what they told me to do!)

dad's insight

dad and i had a really heartfelt talk tonight...about mom, rye and i being home...life...and though i don't feel like going into detail...there was something he said that was so poetic and true, that i wanted to share it...

we were talking about life going on...and i said, 'life goes on, but not with flying colors.'

and dad said in response, 'yes, but stace, you get to choose which colors you fly.'

i really love my dad.

O Christmas Tree, O Christmas Tree

Christmas tree shopping in Hawaii! Not as picturesque as the tree farm and hay ride in Washington...and 4 times as expensive... :) but we were happy nontheless.

maturity levels

sometimes it astounds me that the maturity level of professional adults can be equal to that of our kindergarteners. regardless of whether or not you're mad at someone when someone says, "good morning" the proper response is not to turn your back to them. (sigh) ;) although then it really is quite amusing to continue to try to talk to them. hee hee...

personal perferences and technology

So cool. Aunty Pat just clued me in on this new website: www.pandora.com. Yay Aunty Pat for being more ontop of the web than even Cec! (or at least I think so cause she's never told me about it)

The website allows you to create your own radio station (basically like an iPod play list) by putting in your current favorite song, then saying whether you like their recommendations or not.

Perfect timing since I'm at work till 8 tonight. Now I just need better speakers! :)
