Dinner Rules

So Ryan and I have this somewhat rule of no TV, no reading, no phones, etc,. when we eat dinner. Well...that was in the past. These days our dinners consist of having lots of materials at the dinner table.

And paint sample booklets...

And tonight's dinner conversation (which ended up in an e-mail to Guru Todd)...if we want the living room walls to match the wood in the floor, and the wood in the floor to match the vinyl in the kitchen, and the vinyl in the kitchen to match the color of the corian, and the color of the corian to match the paint of the cabinet, and the paint of the cabinets to match the paint in the kitchen and the paint in the kitchen to match the walls of the living room....where the heck do you start?!

And once you choose where to start how do you know it's gonna match?! (and don't even get me started on the accent colors or the paint inside the cabinets, let alone the backsplash tiling Rye wants to do)

Starting our weekend with a Friday Night trip to our favorite Home Depot tomorrow. :) I think we hope that if we go often enough we'll just absorb handyman-home-fixer-upper knowledge.
